About Care and Compassion
Care and Compassion is a home for 25 girls and boys, founded and run by a dedicated couple, Mrs. Sujatha Prince and Mr. Prince Aaron in Goa. The orphanage is a registered charitable trust that attends to the needs of the children without any distinction to community, caste, sex, language or religion. The children are orphans, street children and children from broken families of destitute backgrounds. They are given a home, are admitted to excellent schools and are living together in a family. Prince and Sujatha are like parents to the kids and spend a lot of time with them, which reflects in the children’s wellbeing and confidence.
Tara Trust is interacting closely with this orphanage, also by conductiong weekly workshops with the children. We are impressed by these wonderful children and their loving caretakers. We want to support their work by finding sponsors, who will partly pay for the expenses of the education of the children. To support a child’s education will cost you only 26 Euro (1575 Rupees) per month. This small amount gives one child a chance to get an education.
How is my money spent?
Tara Trust helps to raise funds and find partners for a few, personally selected projects within India. 100% of your donation will reach the project and will be used for the benefit of the children. The amount (see break up below) will be used for meals, medical caretaking, school materials, etc.The sponsorship does not cover all the costs to educate a child. Other costs, such as housing, transport, recreational activities, etc. are met through other donations. Therefore, one-time donations for Care and Compassion are also very welcome and needed, for example for contributions to computer classes, the monthly expenses for the bus to transport the children to school, recreational activities, etc.
The value of the Rupee is constantly changing, depending on strength of the Euro/Dollar. The exchange rate in April 2010 has been 1 Euro for 60 Rupees. In case the exchange rate goes up in future, the extra Rupees will benefit the children of Care and Compassion.
