What does TARA mean?
TARA means "star" in Hindi and Sanskrit. To "reach for the stars" is what we will accomplish with your generous help! TARA is also the goddess of universal compassion in Buddhism, often called the "mother of liberation", representing the virtues of success in work and achievements.
What is TARA trust ?
TARA trust is a non-profit organization that supports projects located in different parts of India, ranging from the Himalayas in the extreme North, to Goa in the South.
With our engagement we want to create interest and opportunity. As fundraisers we link the donors with the cause and provide communication between the two. Our goal is to support projects that work with credibility, enthusiasm and dedication to help the less privileged in India.
How does TARA choose its projects?
TARA trust is networking closely with people from all walks of life within India. When we hear of a good and efficient project, we do research on the project and visit it to find out about their needs and how they deliver on their goals.

We choose small and middle range projects that fit in with the mission and vision of TARA trust , projects that educate, empower and enable the underprivileged, especially children and women to improve their lives.
Can a project apply for support by TARA trust ?
Right now, we are not in the position to take on more projects. However, we are happy to receive your application. If your project falls in line with TARA trust's mission and vision, we might come back to you at a different time.
How can I donate?

How can I be sure as a donor that my privacy is guaranteed?
The names and contact details of our donors are kept strictly confidential.
